饒荷盛放──饒荷的形成與發展(二)

香港大學饒宗頤學術館現舉辦「饒荷盛放──饒荷的形成與發展(二)」,讓大家再次欣賞到饒宗頤教授在新世紀的主要創作題材──荷花。

從新世紀開始,饒教授的荷花可謂踏進了「無入而不自得」的地步,他所用的筆法、色彩、甚至構圖,很多都是古人所未有涉筆者。他有一些作品以金或銀墨來勾寫,然後填以紅色;他亦用其他方法勾寫,包括一些以敦煌白畫筆法所勾勒敦煌各朝代的荷花造型;有些是先以潑墨潑色的形式,粗略地寫出荷花及荷葉的形象,然後用金或墨來勾外型;亦有完全用潑色、減筆的筆法來作大寫意荷花,有些則在大片潑墨的荷葉上,以金書寫題記,形成很獨特的構圖。故此,他這十多年來的荷花,可說是千變萬化,成為他獨有的「饒荷」。

展覽由2016年9月12日至11月4日於香港大學饒宗頤學術館展覽廳舉行,歡迎各界蒞臨參觀。

 

Opulence of the Jao’s Lotus – The Formation and Development of Jao’s Lotus (II)

The exhibition Opulence of the Jao’s Lotus - The Formation and Development of Jao’s Lotus (II) is brought to you by Jao Tsung-I Petite Ecole of the University of Hong Kong, presenting artworks in Professor Jao’s new painting theme of the 21st century–lotus.

Since the beginning of the new century, Professor Jao has been furthering his techniques of lotus painting with modulation through brush method, coloration and even composition, many of which has not been used by the predecessors. Among others, some lotus are delineated in gold or silver but shaded with red. He also employs different ways of sketching, including the Dunhuang line drawing method, while others are scribbled with ink and color splashes followed by outlining with gold or silver. He also paints lotus in expressive style by applying only splash color and syncopated strokes. Sometimes he writes the inscription in gold over the splash ink lotus leaves, producing his distinctive composition. For more than a decade, such kaleidoscopic representation in different forms has become the uniqueness of Jao’s Lotus.

The exhibition will take place from 12 September to 4 November 2016 at the exhibition hall of Jao Tsung-I Petite Ecole. We warmly welcome all to come and visit.
